UNIVERSITY TITLES PROMINENCE OF D. MUNRO INDIGNATION IN DUNEDIN The championships of the Auckland. University College, which were decided last week, were monopolised by D. Munro, who, in open handicap races, has shown himself to be an improving swimmer, proficient at both free-st.yle and backstroke. The absence of the national furlong champion, P. H. Syrnes, of Otago University, from the inter-university tournament in Wellington at Easter leaves Munro with strong prospects of victory in the 100 yards. A formidable opponent in the 220 yards and 440 yards events will be J. Neville, Otago University, who has represented Taranaki at the last two New Zealand championship meetings. The conclusion of the points competitions held throughout the season by the Eastern Suburbs Club for its members finds Munro highest in the men's aggregate, and Miss E. Krause with the same position in that for ladies. Contests were also held for intermediates, juniors and tiny tots. The Eastern Suburbs Club, therefore, has observed a wise policy from the very beginning of its career early this season.
