OOROMANDEL PROPOSALS "SATISFACTORY AS A WHOLE" [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] COROMANDEL, Tuesday The proposed »> aerodrome for Coromandel was the subject of comment by Wing-Commander T. M. Wilkes, Controller of Civil Aviation, in a letter to the Coromandel County Council. Wing-Commander Wilkes considered that the estimates for tho work by the unemployed wero too low and advocated the uso of a light, mobile power shovel, and a locomotive and tramway plant. It was also possible that unemployed labour might not be available, in which case arrangements for finance required consideration. Further, no provision had been made for tho purchase of 22 acres of land, or grassing. The drainage, was likely to be more expensive than that proposed. The proposals were thought to be satisfactory, provided further consideration was given to those points mentioned. Wing-Commander Wilkes advised the council to make an immediate application for labour.
