BUSY TIME IN PORT
MANY OVERSEAS SHIPS ALL BERTHS OCCUPIED The port of Auckland has been exceptionally busy with shipping this week, and it will continue to be so next week. All the berths at the wharves were occupied yesterday. Jn addition to the vessels already in port, the arrivals, other than local coasters, during the day were the Wanganella from Sydney, the Tymeric from Antwerp, the Kanna from Walpole Island and the Poolta from Wellington. The departures yesterday included the Port Whangarei, Port Waikato, Antigone, Kairanga, Poolta and Wingatui. The berths vacated will be taken by a number of overseas vessels arriving during the week-end. To-day the Garonne will arrive from Palembang, the Akaroa from London and the Triona from Nauru Island. To-morrow the Golden State will arrive from Los Angeles, the Karepo from Sydney and the Fordsdale from Port Chalmers. Monday's arrivals will include the Aorangi from Sydney, the Tuscan Star from South Africa, the Port Brisbane from New York and the Waimarino from Southern ports. The Beatus from Ocean Island and the Rangitiki from Tokomaru Bay are also expected to arrive that day. The departure of the Wanganella for Sydney having been postponed until Monday, instead of to-day, a readjustment of berths for incoming vessels will probably be necessary owing to the congestion of shipping in the port.
