DRAMA SCHOLARSHIP
AWARD TO AUCKLANDER A scholarship providing a year's full dramatic course at the Central School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art, Royal Albert Hall, London, has been awarded Mr. Terence D. Morgan, of Auckland. The course will involve a special study of lighting and stage decorations.
Mr. Morgan, who is well known in dramatic circles, received his secondary education at New Plymouth. Ho came to Auckland in 1926 and took a commercial position in the city. For two years he studied at the Elam School of Art, but shortly afterwards left Auckland and held appointments in Wellington and Dunedin successively. Mr. Morgan returned to Auckland about two years ago and was a member of the Winchenden Players' cast that won the British Drama League's national festival in 1934. Last year ho toured New Zealand as a member of Frank Neil's Revue Company and also produced one of the plays presented at the British Drama League's Auckland area festival. While in Auckland Mr. Morgan has been closely associated with the work of the Little Theatre Society and the drama group of the Workers' Educational Association.
Mr. Morgan will leave for England, via Suez, next Friday.
