USEFUL PETROL DRUM
Petrol drums can be made into good flour bins. Cut off one end and leave in the open air for a little while. Scrub the drum with plenty of hot soda and water. When dry, paint the inside and leave outside until all smell of paint is gone. The end you cut off reversed, makes a good tight-fitting lid. The bin will bold nearly two bags of flour. Oil drums treated the same way make good sugar bins. Petrol drums also make good wash troughs. Cut the drum in halves, length-wise. .Bolt four strong pieces of timber at the corners to serve as legs. Bore a hole near one end of the tub to allow the water to run away. Fit a large cork or a wooden plug in the hole, and you have a strong trough. All these are particularly useful ideas for campers.
