THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE COMMERCIAL BANKS RISE Levels were fairly steady in the investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. In Governinent loans, the 4 per cents had slightly firmer inquiry and a parcel of 1941) stock changed hands os dearer at £lO3 10s. South British Insurances were unchanged on sale at 93s 9d, but offers were a shade easier. In breweries, oilers for C. L. Innes jumped 2s and a sale was recorded at 2'2s (3d, a rise "of 3s 6d since the last business in December. New Zealands dropped Is Id in dealing at 525; while Dominions were traded .'kl lower at 20s 9d. Broken Hills touched a new record price in business at 61s lid, but later eased and more were available at 61s 9d. G. J Coles moved up by 2s to sell at 75s 6d, and another substantial movement was in Grey and Menzies, selling Is 9d higher at lis 9d. Sales at higher prices were made in British Tobaccos, Colonial Sugars and Farmers' Fertilisers, while otlier business was done at current rates.
