AUSTRALIAN LABOUR
UNITY AGREEMENT RE-BIRTH OF MOVEMENT * . POSITION IN PARLIAMENT (Received February 27, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Feb. 27 In a statement at the close of the Labour Conference, Mr. J. Curtin, Federal leader, said the conditions of unity agreed upon would ensure the authority of the Federal Conference and protect the rights of everyone who had been a member of the party. It was possible now to look forward to what might be regarded as the rebirth of the Australian Labour movement. The unity of the Labour parties in the House of Representatives leaves the Lyons Government with a clear majority of 20 in the House and 75 in the Senate.
