LONDON PARLEYS POSSIBILITY OF PACT GERMANY MAY JOIN IMPORTANT DISCUSSIONS By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright j (Received February 27. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 26 It is announced that the Italian j Ambassador in London, Signor Dino Grandi, has arranged a visit to the ■ Foreign Office to examine with the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Anthony ( Eden, political problems which ( would follow upon technical questionß coming within the agenda of the London Naval Conference. The German Ambassador, Herr von Hoesch, accompanied by Prince von Bismarck and a naval attache, called at the Foreign Office this afternoon, and was received by Mr. Eden, with the First Lord of the Admiralty, Viscount Monsell, and the First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir Ernie Chatfield. It is understood that discussion took place as to the means whereby the possible accession of Germany to any agreement that may result from the Naval Conference might be effected. The Daily Telegraph's naval correspondent deduces from the conferences between Kerr von Hoesch, Prince von Bismarck and Mr. Eden and Admiralty representatives that the negotiations in progress probably will lead to Germany's adherence to the decisions of the conference as a sovereign Power on the basis of complete equality with the other signatories of the pact. THE MEDITERRANEAN ITALY ISSUES WARNINGS MAY LEAVE THE LEAGUE ROME. Feb. 26 An inspired press warns Britain that Italy is closely examining the position in the Mediterranean. France also is warned that her attitude is jeopardising Franco-Italian accord, and hints of withdrawal from the League are renewed. A Gazette announces additional expenditure for the Air Force of £750,000.
