AFTERNOON TEA PARTY
FORMER OPERA PLAYER An afternoon tea party was given in the Milno and Choyce Reception Hall yesterday by the Countess de VilmeHautmont, formerly Miss Vinia de Loitte, a previous Gilbert and Sullivan opera player. Also present was Mr. Ivan Menzies, a member of the company at present in Auckland, who pave a brief address oti the Oxford Group movement. The Countess de Vflme-Hautmont entertained her guests with musical and spoken excerpts from " Patience," " Princess Ida," and " The Yeomen of the Guard," in all of which operas she had previously played. She concluded with an extempore impressionistic pianoforte rendition which thoroughly delighted her guests. While afternoon tea was served the hostess moved from table to table meeting everybody present.
