INTOXICATED DRIVER
OFFENCE AT OTAHUHU FINE OF £lO IMPOSED The cancellation of his driving licence for six months and a fine of £lO was imposed on Robert Ward Donaldson, barman, who admitted in the Otahuhu Police Court yesterday a- charge of being found intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car. Sergeant J. Cahill said accused and three others who accompanied him in a car were observed entering a hotel at Otahuhu about 5 p.m. on Wednesday. A constable noticed that accused's walk was unsteady, and he was arrested on entering the car and preparing to drive away. He was medically certified to be unfit to be in charge of a motorvehicle. Accused said this was the first time he had been in trouble and he assured the Bench that there would be no repetition. "I am glad the constable Eitopped me from driving away in the car," ho added. Accused was allowed 14 days to pay his fine.
