AFFILIATION QUESTION SATURDAY'S TEST MATCH LOSS ON AUCKLAND GAME A communication wns received from the New Zealand Council at last evening's meeting of the management cominitteo of the Auckland Cricket Association regarding the application from North Auckland for affiliation as a minor association. Tho council btatcd that it favoured the North Auckland Association's application and was of the opinion that it would have to he granted. Tho Auckland Association was asked if it had any further objections. The Dominion body stated that it was in sympathy with Auckland's view regarding tho balance of voting power, which would bo affected by tho admission of too many minor associations. The council was prepared to take up the matter of the amalgamation of certain minor associations, whoso strength, as represented by the number of teams under their control, might not justify hucli classification, The chairman of the committee, Mr. W. R Fee, said that tho association would bo satisfied so long as the council would inquire into tho suggested amalgamation. Appreciation of the hospitality received by members of its team on the recont visit to Auckland was expressed in a letter from the Otago Association. It. was agreed to thank the Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association for courtesy extended to the visiting M.C.C, team. Advice was received from the New Zealand Council that Mr. H. M. Taylor, a member of its committee, would represent tho body at the unofficial test match in Auckland, commencing on Friday. Mr. Taylor would act as manager of the New Zealand team. Prices for tho match were advised as follows.—Groand. Is Gd; stand, 3s; children, half-price. The chairman reported that, as accurately as could be estimated at tho moment, the association stood to lose about £l3O oil the M.C.C.-Auckland game. Congratulations were extended to the Auckland junior representative team and its manager, Mr, E. J. Price, on the side's success on its recent Brabin Cup tour. On tho suggestion of Mr. Snedden, the Piako Association was thanked for the lios pitality extended to Auckland players who took part in tho game against the M.C.C. team. The chairman notified that L. F. Townsend would bo leaving for England on March G. The professional coach had intimated that he would not be available for reengagement next season.
