THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE LOW OFFERS FOR BYCROFTS The return of buyers for Bycrofts after a prolonged absence was a feature of trading in the investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. There was a very wide disparity in margins, offers being only 37s Gd to holders' quotations of 47s 6d. Business in Government loans was confined'to a sale of 1939-43 3} per cent stock at £lO2 12s Gd, a rise of 2s 6di There was an easier tendency in the 4 per cents. Inquiry for banks was more widely distributed. Australasias were done at £l2 15s Gd, 'a rise of 12s on the previous sa'e, prior to dividend announcement. Selling for the first time sinco last May, Nationals of Australasia gained £2 lls,in dealing at £ls 7s 6d, which is on a par with late sales in the gouth. Commercials again moved downward. business being done 2d cheaper nt IPs Sd, while Reserve Banks were secured Is lower at £5 19s. Among the insurances, New Zealaiuls sold at the current price, 63s 3d, and later at 635. while South British were lifted 6d on sale at 945. There was some dealing in loan and agency and gas issues, but other classified sections were neglected. Broken Hills were very firm, a transfer being made 3d higher at 60s 9d, and holders later withdrawing when offers were raised to 61s. "Wilsons Cements again improved,, a parcel changing hands 6d higher at 43s 6d, with more available 8t that figure. Business passed at unchanged rates in other industrial issues.
