NEW FORESTS IN BRITAIN
FORMER INDUSTRIAL AREAS PLAN TO GIVE EMPLOYMENT (.Received February 24, 7.30 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Feb. 23 The Forestry Commission has announced its decision to start new forests in, the so-called special areas where industries have not revived since the depression, in order to provide employment for forest workers as well as agricultural holdings for settling them and their families. The total holdings of the Forestry Commission in Britain cover nearly 1,000,000 acres, and in its nurseries there are thfs season 72,000,000 young trees, grown from seed bought either in Britain, Europe, Canada or the United States.
