PIRATE SHIP
"Going Up," besides being the name of the old-time carnival dance held at the Pirate Ship on Saturday night, was a fitting title to the rapidly increasing popularity of the "ship." There was a large number of people present. The decorations on the lower dancing deck were colourful and original. The back of the stage represented the sky and aeroplanes in flight, while a. large aeroplane formed the front. More miniature aeroplanes were suspended from the ceiling in the hall. Banners inscribed with the names of famous aviators, past and present, were arranged on the cubicles. Small cut-out aeroplanes and balloons were distributed among the dancers, and a Monte Carlo and other novelty dances were held*. The Pirate Ship Orchestra played appropriate selections from the musical comedy "Going Up."
