AN IMPROVED POSITION LOWER DIVIDEND PAYABLE The accounts of Silknit (N.Z.), Limited, for the year ended December 31, 1935, show a. net profit of £6807, against £6560 earned in 1934, the first year of trading. Tho directors recommend payment of a dividend of 8 per cont, a reduction of 4J per cent. This will absorb £2OOO, and the balance, £4807, after payment of directors' fees, is to be used for writing down goodwill. The amount of directors' fees proposed is not stated, but in tho previous vear £SOO was appropriated. Over £4OOO should be available for reducing goodwill, which stands in tho accounts at £12,926. The balance-shoet reflects an improved position. Bank overdraft of £8945 hps disappeared, and there is a cash balance of £9ll, against £20.» Fixed assets are lower by £4623 at £4679, and there has been a reduction of £4664 to £7868 in stocks. Faid capital is unchanged at £25,000. IMPROVED STOCK YARDS [from our OWN- correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Saturday Extensive additions and improvements to the stock-loading yards at the Morrinsville railway station have just been completed. Tho pig-receiving yards have been concreted, and the sheeploading yards have been doubled and another loading-race has been erected. These improvements to the stock loading facilities at tho station have been rendered necessary owing to tho great increase in the volume of stock being marketed in Morrinsville.
