DRESSES FOR ASCOT
KING'S CONSIDERATION .) MOURNING NOT NECESSARY GAYER FASHIONS PLANNED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received February 21, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 20 His Majesty King Edward has announced that the public will not be expected to wear mourning at Ascot. This has caused dress designers immediately to decide to produce gayer fashions than they had planned to do. The decision, which does not apply to Court circles, is understood to be the result of His Majesty's visit to the textile section of the British Industries Fair, when he discussed with the Earl of Derby, officials and exhibitors, the effect of Court mourning on trade.
