SIR A. CADOGAN
FOREIGN OFFICE POST DEPUTY UNDER-SECRETARY (Received February 21, 7.45 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY. Feb. 20 The Foreign Secretary, Mr. Anthony Eden, has appointed Sir Alexander Cadogan, British Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in China, to be Deputy Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, in succession to Sir Victor Wellesley on the latter's retirement.
Sir Hughe Knatchbull Hugessen, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary at Teheran, has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in China.
