NON-FICTION FILMS
PRODUCTION IN BRITAIN r 1 A move has been made in England to co-ordinate the making of documentary—that is, non-fictional —films and bring together all who are interested in their production. For this purpose a new organisation, "Associated Realistic Film Producers, Limited," has been formed. Those associated with the venture are Paul Rotha, who made " Contact " and " Shipyard," Andrew Buchanan, John Holmes, Arthur Elton, Alberto Cavalcanti, Basil Wright, who directed " Song of Ceylon," and Stuart Legge, who made tho recent 8.8.C. film. With them will be associated as specialist advisers Mr. John Grierson, Professor J. B. S. Haldane, Professor Julian Huxley, Professor Lancelot Hogben, Mr. McKnight Kauffer, Mr. Walter Leigh and Mr. Basil Ward.
With the enormous growth in tho number of private projectors there is also a great demand for documentary pictures. The new body is intended to offer expert advico and assistance to all who desire to make them.
