KNOCKED DOWN BY COW
POUNDKEEPER HURT CONDITION FAIRLY SERIOUS Injuries to the head were suffered by Mr. William McLachlan, aged 57, mar ried, poundkeeper to the Mount Albert Borough Council, when he was knocked over by a cow he was taking to' the pound yesterday afternoon. Mr. McLachlan] who lives at 410 New North Road, Kingsland, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital. With a companion, Mr. McLachlan was taking a cow and calf to the pound. He was holding a rope which was fastened round the cow's neck, and when near the corner of New North Road and Salisbury Avenue he was knocked over by the animal. He struck the back of his head in falling. After being attended by a doctor- Mr. McLachlan was taken to hospital in a St. John ambulance. His condition last night was fairly serious.
