NORTHERN PRESBYTERY
MEETING HELD AT KAIKOHE NEW MINISTER ORDAINED [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] KAIKOHE, Thursday At a meeting of the North Auckland Presbytery, held for the first time at Kaikohe yesterday, an application from the Rev. R. T. Wearne to be admitted to the Presbyterian ministry was referred to the assembly's application committee for favourable consideration. The Rev. C. Bricrly was again appointed the presbytery's representative on the broadcasting committee. The presbytery decided to change the status of the Kaikohe Church to that of an aided charge under special financial conditions.
Remits from the assembly dealing with unemployment were dealt with and it was resolved that the presbytery urge all ministers and sessions to Lie alert to see that nothing in the nature of injustice or sweating in connection with the employment of men under relief conditions should be allowed.
The Rev. N. C. Hall was ordained ill the Kaikohe. Presbyterian Church yesterday and inducted to the ■ charge of the Presbyterian Church in the Bay of islands district. There was a large attendance. Mr. Hall has just graduated from the Presbyterian Theological Hall, Dunedin, and comes to his new charge from Kdendale, Auckland.
