DEPARTURE OF PRESIDENT Warm tributes to the work of Mr. J. 0. Shearer as president of the Workers' Educational Association were paid by members of the association at a farewell dinner to Mr. Shearer, who will leave to-day for Australia to assume his duties as' lecturer in economics nt the University of Western Australia. Appreciative references to Mr. Shearer's activities on the association's behalf were made bv Mr. W. H. Cocker, chairman of the tutorial class committee, Mr. X. M. Richmond, director of the association, and Mr. E. Blair, a former president, after which Mr. Shearer was presented with a fountain pen and a book.
