DRAINAGE REPORT
WORK OF EXPERTS TAKAPUNA DISSATISFACTION The report furnished on the metropolitan drainage scheme by the visiting experts was criticised by the Mayor, Mr. J. Guiniven, at last night's meeting of the Takapuna Borough Council. "I think the council should publicly express disapproval with the findings of the experts," he said. "An expert from London supported tho Orakoi scheme at the time Sir Arthur Myers was Mayor of Auckland. Orakei has been a source of trouble since it was opened. The latest scheme would cause pollution of the North Shore beaches. I do not think the experts were here long enough."
After various members of the council had supported these views, it was resolved to inform the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board that tho council disagreed with the findings in the experts' report.
