UNSETTLED CONDITIONS COOLER TEMPERATURESi The weather report and forecast fop New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, were as follows: —A moderate depression ig crossing the South Island, while an anti-cyclone covers eastern Australia and is moving on to the Tasman Sea. The indications are for moderate to fresh northerly winds north of Grey, mouth and Kaikoura, southerly winds thence southward, southerlies extending over most of the Dominion by morning and becoming strong. Seas moder. ate mainly at first, but becoming rough shortly north of Farewell Spit and south of East Cape. In the eastern Tasman Sea, moderate but increasing southerly winds, with moderate but rising seas. The weather should be cloudy to overcast, with mist or fog parts of the South Island.
