OVER 7,000,000 LICENCES POPULAR EMPIRE SERVICE (Received February IG.. 5.5 p.m.) British Wireless BUG BY. Feb. 15 The ninth annual report of the British Broadcasting Corporation records an increase during 1935 in the number of wireless licences from 6,780,569 to 7,403,109. Listeners show increased interest in the Empire service and, more than 27,000 letters ana reports —approximately double the number received in 1934 provided valuable guidance in developing the programmes and the technical aspects of the service.
