PETROL AND RUBBER
SUBSTITUTES IN GERMANY BOTH PROBLEMS SOLVED (Received February 16. 5.5 p.m.) i BERLIN. Feb. 15 C At the opening of an international automobile exhibition Herr Hitler said Germany had solved problems which assured her of a sufficient supply of synthetic petrol and also was producing usable synthetic rubber. The need for an adequate supply of petrol might be regarded as overcome. Chemists had worked miracles. Synthetic rubber had been tested by the Army and by other competent quarters for more than a year and it surpassed natural rubber in durability by 10 to SO per cent.
