MEETING AT LYNNDALE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS HELD RECORDS BROKEN BY LADIES' The Lynndale Amateur Athletic Club decided half of its track championships, together with some open handicaps on its track, at New Lynn on Saturday afternoon. Ideal weather prevailed, with the exception of a strong cross wind, which hindered the runners. Fields were small, but competition was spirited and the finishes close. Two club records were broken, the first by Miss G. Lorrigan in the javelin throw and the other by Miss G. Thomas in the long jump. Results were: — CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS IOOYds Senior.—N. Funnell, 1; R. MEETING AT DEVONPORT AUCKLAND CLUB AND NAVY f An interesting amateur athletic meeting was held on the Naval Reserve at Devonport on Saturday afternoon, when the Auckland Amateur Athletic Club arranged a combined carnival for its members and also for members of the Naval Forces. AQUATIC CONTESTS BIRKENHEAD COMPETITIONS SWIMMING AND ROWING RACES The annual aquatic competitions in connection with the Northcote and Birkenhead regatta were held on Saturday afternoon at the waterfront of HinCmoa Park, near the Birkenhead wharf, in the presence of a large number of spectators, which included the Mayor and Mayoress of Northcote, Mr. R. Martin and Mrs. Martin, the deputy-mayor of Birkenhead, Mr. A. Hadfield. and members of the borough councils. The weather conditions were favourable for both completitors and onlookers. The work of the officials was greatly facilitated by Mr. E. C. Fowler's launch Huawai assembling the competitors, and a. ladies' committee, headed oy Miss V.
