FROZEN AND CHILLED SMITHFI ELD QUOTATIONS MUTTON SHOWS ADVANCE (Received February lf>, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 15 Following are the latest quotations for frozen and chilled meat, with those of the previous week for comparison:— FROZEN MUTTON

"None offering. +No business on account of tho strike. Quotations nominal and unchanged. The •weekly quotations are based on actual sales of wholesale quantities of carcases of mutton or lamb or of quarters of beef delivered to Smithfield market and/or London stores. They are compiled by the Quotations Committee, Smithfield. To arrive at the equivalent ex ship values one farthing per pound should be deducted from the prices quoted above. Quotations given represent the average for the week, and are not solected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of shipments now 011 offer. PRICES COMPARED NEW ZEALAND PARITY The equivalent New Zealand parit.v of the published Smithfield market prices, on the basis of a prime woolly jamb of 341b. weight, is follows, according to figures of the New Zea-land-Meat Producers' Board: — N.Z. LAMB SLIGHTLY EASIER ABNORMAL TRADE CONDITIONS The following private cablegrams regarding the .Smithfield market have been received: —• Bank of New Zealand. —Wethers: The demand and prices are steady. Ewes: Smaller supplies have caused prices to harden. Lambs: Trade is irregular, moderate business is being done. Trade generally is affected by abnormal conditions. Quotations: — Wethers, light, 4?|d to 5Jd per lb.; heavy, 3.} dto 4 jd; ewes, 2Jd to 4d; lambs, twos, dto 7Jd; eights, 74(1 to 7j|d; fours, 7d to. 7id; seconds, 7id to 7jjd. New Zealand Meat Producers' Board.—Lambs: Prices are slightly easier owing to heavier arrivals, but consumption is satisfactory for the time of venr. Mutton: Wethers and ewes are firmer owing to shortening spot stocks, excepting heavy-weights, which are slightly weaker. Beef: Frozen beef is firmer at slightly higher prices, owing to more demand, duo to colder weather. New Zealand porkers: The market is slightly weaker, with trado slow. New Zealand baconcrs: The market is a shade easier, owing to increased supplies on the spot and in sight. COTTON, RUBBER, COPRA, ETC.
