AUSTRALIA AND DOMINION CAPITATION FEE LEVIED SYDNEY, Feb. 14 With a view to securing closer unity between the coalminers of New Zealand aud Australia, Mr. McLaglan, of New Zealand, attended a conference of the executive of the Coalminers' 1* ederation in Sydney yesterday. Mr. McLaglan explained that the financial position of the New Zealand body had improved. New Zealand miners had been affiliated with the Australian miners for some years, but had paid no capitation fees because of the unfinancial membership. The meeting decided to impose a capitation fee of 4d a member on New Zealand miners, and agreed to exchange delegates at alternate annual meetings of the two bodies.
