DEATH FROM BURNS

POWER STATION EMPLOYEE TOUCHED 50.000 VOLT LINE [BY TELEGRArH —PRESS ASSOCIATION"] WAIROA, Friday The death occurred in the Wairoa Hospital this morning of Mr. Ray Nicholson, a single man, aged about 34, who was severely burned at the Waikaremoana power works on Tuesday. Further particulars show that Mr. Nicholson, when he came into contact with a 50,000-volt line, had his clothing enveloped in flames. As a result he was stripped of all his clothing with the exaeption of his boots and socks. A fellow employee suffered burns in putting out the flames. Mr. Nicholson, he said, resembled a human torch. He suffered frightful injuries and shock, but retained consciousness practically up to the time of his death.
