MODERN PRINTING
DENT'S TEMPLE PRESS To those interested in printing or factory efficiency a small volume describing the Temple Press, Letchworth, Hertfordshire, should be of some value. This concern, which is the book-making side of tho publishing firm of J. M. Dent and Sons, Limited, might bo called a model printing works. It was, indeed, used in the researches of tho National Institute of Industrial Psychology, which systematised the vague notions on factory management into a presentable science and has made the work-day of a million operatives less drab and soul-destroying. So much for tho organisation. It is the story of the construction of a book that will interest most. Tho Temple Press has an absorbing tale to tell for thoso who pause from their reading to reflect how the commerce of ideas is forwarded by printing, the craft on which the futurfe of civilisation rests.
