HINTS ON BUDDING
A few weeks after budding all stocks should be examined to see that the ties are not cutting into the bark. If there is any sign of this tho raffia should bo removed and a new piece put in its place. The bud can be examined at the same time. Jf it is still plump, and the bark around it is green and fresh looking, all is well, and a union has probably, been made with the stock. Jf, on the other hand, the bud appears brown and shrivelled up, there may still bo time to insert another bud on the opposite side of the stock.
