WASHING PILLOWS

Feather pillows which aro in constant use require periodic attention as they pick up a considerable quantity of dust. On a sunny day empty tho feathers intd a bath of hot, soapy water containing a little borax. See that every feather is submerged and wash by squeezing handfuls at a time. When all the feathers havo been treated in this way remove them from tho water with a colander and rinso in cold water. Then drop them into a clean pillowcase and put through tho wringer. Place tho feathers in a warm oven for an hour and after that air in tho open. The pillow-tick should bo thoroughly washed in hot, soapy water and hung out to dry. Then rub tho inside with a piece of soap moistened with warm water to -keep the feathers from penetrating.
