JAPANESE SEEK TRADE
DISPLAY OF GOODS AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND [from ohjr own correspondent] SYDNEY. Feb. 3 A delegation of Japanese business men, elected by the Tokio Export Association to visit Australia and New Zealand and to display goods with a view to increasing the prestige of Japanese manufacturers, was aboard the Yaye Maru, which called in at Brisbane the other day. The delegation comprises Messrs. I. Itabap.lii,s oii the Sasaki Glass Cq.;_ Y. Sumidaj of Taishoh Yoko, manufac turers'of stationery goods; K. Yasuno, of Matsumoto and Co., makers oi braids; and K. Matsusaka, of Omiya and Co., general merchants. Mr. Sumida said that there had beer a prejudice in the past against goods bearing tho brand, "Made in Japan, but Japanese manufacturers had concentrated on the production of quality goods, and it was the purpose of tht delegation, by a display of samples, tc show how far they had succeeded. In Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and Auckland, importers would hart an opportunity of seeing the varietj and quality of the products of the industrial concerns which he and his fellow delegates had brought wit! them. They had 15 cases of samples and they hoped that as many people as possible would see them.
