GILBERT AND SULLIVAN
Sir, —I notice the advertisements of the coming Gilbert and Sullivan season have not included the old and famous opera, "Ruddigore," which was popular 50 years ago. I, like other patrons of the operas, would like to see this included in the present visit. Another old favourite was "Haddon Hall," which seems to be out of date. Could it be revived? If the promoters could see their way to add these to their list we would feel grateful. Supporter.
Sir, —It is with great pleasure that I have read of the forthcoming season of the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera in Auckland. However, I am disappointed to learn that the delightful "Princess Ida" is not to be included this season. I am sure it would be well patronised, as it is a great favourite with everyone. We Gilbert and Sullivan enthusiasts will be interested to learn if better arrangements are to be made for the queueing of the gallery patrons. Methods in the past have been haphazard and annoying, and no one can find out definitely what methods will, or will not be allowed in connection with the placing of boxes in the queue. Surely arrangements could be made whereby gallery patrons could take their places in the theatre without undue lass of dignity. Enthusiast.
