ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

INSPECTION NEXT SATURDAY A parade,of all divisions of the St. John Ambulance Brigade will be held Carlau- Park on Saturday, February 22, when thev will be insi>ected by Colonel J. L. Sleeman, Chief Commissioner of the Brigade Overseas, who js acting as a visitation to New Zealand on behalf of the Order of ot. John of Jerusalem. An invostiture iv ill also be held when ' Colonel Sleeman will present the honours recently awarded. After the parole a demonstration of work by senior n ''J cadet divisions will be held, and ~ the public will thus have an opportunity to see the numerical strength of tlie brigade. A civic reception will be tendered to Colonel Sleeman at the Council Chambers on Tuesday at noon, and the pubhe are also jnvited to attend this function. Colonel Sleeman was expected to Arrive in Auckland a week ago, but has been confined to his bed in Taupinga suffering from pneumonia. He Is now reported to be making satisfactory progress toward recovery.
