UNIVERSITY WOMEN
ENDING OF CONFERENCE Officers elected at the conference of the Federation of University Women held in Wellington last week were: — President, Mrs. W. W. Benson; vicepresidents, Dr. Elizabeth Bryson, Dr. Muriel Bell and Miss C. M. Heine; secretary, Miss M. L. Fyfe; treasurer, Miss M. L. May. The delegates appointed to the Pan-Pacific general meeting was Miss E. Griffin, and the delegate to the World Congress of yYouth, to be held in Geneva in August, Miss Ruth Mackie. A pleasant conclusion to the work of the conference was the garden party given by Dr. Agnes Bennett at her h&me at Lowry Bay. Assisting Dr. Bennett in the entertainment of her guests was Miss I. Wilson. The guests wandered through the lovely sheltered garden with its beds of massed hydrangeas. Some walked through the native bush at the back of the house and others played croquet or sat and talked on the shaded lawns, where ice cream was served. Afternoon tea was served indoors, the lounge and dining rooms being beautifully decorated with summer flowers. Dr. Jessie Scott thanked Dr. Bennett and the Wellington association, on behalf of the delegates, for providing such a delightful afternoon in >such lovely surroundings.
