TRIBUTE TO BANKER
PRESENTATION BY CLIENTS About 70 prominent clients of the Union Bank gathered yesterday to bid farewell to the manager of the Auckland branch,, Mr. N. A. Hepburn, who, after four years' service here, has been transferred to the bank's branch in Adelaide. The principal speaker was the Hon. J. Alexander, M.L.C., who spoke of the many fine qualities that had established Mr. Hepburn so firmly in the esteem of those who did business with him and also of the staff who served under him. He presented Mr. Hepburn with a set of * golf clubs, a substantial cheque and a wristlet watch, for Mrs. Hepburn. Mr. A. G. Brown, general manager of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, also spoke in terms of the highest appreciation of Mr. Hepburn. Opportunity was taken, to introduce the new manager, Mr. T. S. McMullen, who has coine from Melbourne to take charge of the Auckland branch. Mr. Hepburn will leave by the Monowai on February 10 on his way to Adelaide.
