SEARCH FOR HUSBANDS

NEW ZEALAND GIRLS REQUESTS TO DUNEDIN MAYOR [by telegraph:—OWN correspondent] DUNEDIN, Friday The appeal of a London girl to the Mayor of Dunediii, the Rev. E. T. Cox, that he should help her to find a husband has resulted in complications. It would seem that the suggestion that the Mayor's office resembles a " matrimonial * agency " has been taken seriously. An Auckland girl writes: " A3 you have established a matrimonial aci=ncy, I should also like to appeal to the chivalrotß and kind New Zealand men. The writer explains she does not think there is anything wrong with New Zealand girls. "But they are shy of advertising like this, and they fe,el there is something not quite nice about it something like selling themselves For a home."

Two other young ladies have also appealed io the Mayor to let them have the names and addresses of two young men who have answered the London girl's request.
