PERFECT POT POURRI
The secret of preserving rose petals with all their original colour has been discovered by Lady Strathmore,- a London hostess. Recently she sold this perfected pot pourri at a market in Park Lane. People bought bag after bag to put in their linen cupboards in place of lavender. Through the muslin they could see the deep red glow of rose petals, apparently freshly gathered. " Why haven't they faded?" they asked. " The medieval pot pourri often faded," said Lady Strathmore. " This will not. We use a certain powder which preserves tho colour. The pot pourri is made for me by tho wife of one of the gardeners at my home in Hertfordshire. She and I are the only people who know the secret."
