GOING AWAY?

BRIGHTEN THAT OLD CASE A suitcase or attache case that has become shabby and soiled can often bo renovated most successfully at homo. First, dust tho case thoroughly inside and out, and sponge the outside with a cloth wrung tightly out of warm soapy water. Next rinse in clean tepid water and allow the leather to dry slowly in a gentle heat. Never place tho leather near a lire, as the heat is liable to cause cracks to appear. When tho case is quite dry, it should bo polished. If, however, it. has been neglected for some time, it is advisable to rub a little olive oil into tho leather before applying a polish. Use only a very little oil, and let it remain for at least 24 hours before removing with a soft duster. This will nourish tho leather and help to keep it supplo. Greaso stains on leather should be treated with fuller's earth. Place a little of the powder on the affected part and leave for about 12 hours. Should this fail to remove tho stain,' it is best to rub it with a cloth moistened in a weak solution of oxalic acid and water, in the proportion of one teaspoon of the acid to a gill of water.
