EDUCATED MAN'S LAPSE
A Cambridge graduate, John Cook, of Chatteris, was sentenced at Marylobone Polico Court, recently, to two months' hard labour for fraudulently obtaining .£172 credit at hotels and garages. A detective said that Cook worked for an insurance company after obtaining his B.A. degree, and earned £IOOO a year. Ho also inherited money. "His downfall is mostly due to his wife," he added. Cook: I object to that. Defending counsel said that costly operations on his wife were the cause of Cook's difficulties.
