MEAT EXPORT SEASON

SMALLER SHIPMENTS MADE ONLY TWO CLASSES HIGHER CHILLED BEEF AND MUTTON Shipments from New Zealand of nil classes of meat, except chilled beef and lamb, during the three months of the current export season, ended December 31, 1935, were lower than in tlie corresponding period of the previous season. Figures supplied by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board show that 878,977 carcases of lamb were exported, compared with 1,090,325 carcases in the same period last season. 1 A total of 56,198 quarters of frozen beef, against 80,452 quarters, was shipped, and 32,611 bags of boneless beef, against 87,319 bags. Pork shipments declined from 179,271 carcases to 120,377 carcases. The increases were in mutton, 324,936 carcases, against 231,847 carcases, and chilled beef, 25,026 quarters, against 7689 quarters. Stocks of meat in New Zealand at the end of December, 1935, compared as follows with figures for the corresponding period in 1934: —Chilled beef (quarters), 1594 (—); frozen beef (quarters), 10,480 (17,845); wether mutton (carcases), 56,368 (76,901); ewe mutton (carcases), 7407 (56,958); lamb (carcases), 486,543 (825,518); porkers (carcases), 31,641 (24,600); baconers (carcases), 32,818 (10,821); boneless beef (freight carcases), 33,745 (17,015); sundries (freight carcases), 90,231 (72,485). Stocks in vessels not departed from New Zealand were as follows: — Chilled beef, 1490 (—); frozen beef, 487 (2:U9); wethers, 12,612 (9931); ewe, 1175 (3931); lamb, 261,482 (14.756); porkers, 14,839 (13,744); baconers, 9254 (2178).

AMBURYS, LIMITED

COMPANY RECONSTRUCTED WILL CONTINUE BUSINESS The authorised capital of Amburys, Limited, dairy suppliers, Auckland, has been reduced from £02,000 to £18,500 and a scheme of arrangement between the ordinary shareholders and the preference shareholders of the company has been adopted. The original authorised capital was divided into 12,000 preference shares and 50,000 ordinary shares, all of £1 each. The new capital of £18,500 is divided into 12,000 cumulative preference shares of 10s each, all issued, and 50,000 ordinary shares of 5s each, of which 32,404 have been issued. Paid capital at the end of last year was £14,101 in £OOOO preference and £BlOl ordinary. During the past year the company has been undergoing reconstruction. In the interests of creditors, supervisors were appointed, who became directors of the company, and arrangements were made regarding milk and cream supply. The directors state that the company will continue in business and is making steady progress. It is reported that the past year's trading results were satisfactory. Although the company is a public one, the shareholding is not widely lipid. It is not listed on the Stock Exchange.

FORD MOTOR COMPANY N£VV ZEALAND SUBSIDIARY REGISTRATION AT WELLINGTON Following the extension of the Cana-dian-New Zealand trade treaty last year and tho adoption by New Zealand of a revised scale of motor duties, it was announced that the Ford Motor Company of Canada would proceed immediately with the construction of a £150,000 assembly plant at Wellington. The Ford Motor Company of New Zealand, Limited, was registered last week as a private company at Wellington. according to the Mercantile Gazette. Tho capital is £IOO,OOO in 400.000 shares of £1 each and the subscribers are tho Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited, Ontario, 399,996 shares; W. R. Campbell, G. H. Jackson, T. B. Cavaghan and G. G. Gibbes Watson, 1 share each. The objects are stated as follows: —Manufacturers, assemblers, importers, exporters and shippers of and agents and merchants for and wholesale and retail dealers in traction engines, road and other rollers, motor waggons, motor lorries, motorcars and incidental.

WELLINGTON GAS COMPARISON OF RESULTS The balance-sheet of the Wellington Gas Company, Limited, now to hand, shows that tho net profit for the year ended December 31, 1935, was £39,163, after writing £19,554 off plant, buildings and machinery, against £39,395 in the previous year, after writing off £18,301. The company's results for tho past three years are as follows:
