STREET PARKING
♦ I RESTRICTIONS AT OTAHUHU DECISION OF COUNCIL Restrictions on the parking of Motor vehicles in certain areas of Otahuhu were agreed to by the Otahuhu Borough Council last night. The traffic inspector. Mr. A. Breed, reported that complaints had been received on the parking of vehicles on j both sides of Avenue Road, between I the Great South Rr.ad and Atkinson i Avenue. He recommended that park- ; ing be prohibited on the northern side : of Avenue Road and a time limit of one hour be imposed between the hours of S a m. and 5 p.m. in respect of , parking on the southern side. He also recommended that discs be erected prohibiting parking within 20ft. of the Great South Road intersection. Restrictions were also recommended for Criterion Street, where vehicles were frequently left unattended all over the roadway. The inspector recommended that the northern side of the street be declared a non-parking area from the Great South Road to Atkinson Avenue, j Reporting on complaints that danger ! was being created through parking cn | the Great South Road at the southern end of the town the inspector rccoini mended that the by-hnv ix> invoked in ' respect of the roadway between i airburn Road and Alexandra Street on the eastern side. The report was adopted.
