Thursday Although, in common with the Cantorhurv Fruitgrowers' Association, it realises that there is need for some change in the present system of supplying bananas, the (Hago Retail Fruiterers'- Association has not yet taken any action in the matter. It is probable thai in the near future the position will he reviewed and the Government approached with a new to bringing about an improvement. According to prominent fruiterers, Duncdin appears to be in a worse position than t'hristchurch. It was stated to-ilny that 75 per cent of the bananas sold locally wore Sain on » bananas delivered from Chnstchurch plus '2s 3d a case for freight and an additional 2d or 3d for cartage.
