AN INTELLIGENT SHEEP-DOG
Sir, —Last Saturday when a party of motorists travelling from Mount Maunganui to To Puke encountered a large mob of sheep from tho Bav of Plenty they were greatly impressed with the intelligence displayed by one of the sheep-dogs. Though only a, sinail animal it was evidently the "leader of the flock and, being unable to see over the heads of the sheep, it wou.d at intervals raise itself erect on its hind legs in order to obtain a better view.
