Miss Betty Hamilton (Fendalton, Christchurch) will leave next week on a visit to Auckland.
Mrs. W. H. Cawthra, of Toronto, and Miss K. M. Cook, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel.
Mrs. T. B. Clay, of Mount Albert, is tlio guest of her daughter, Mrs. K. Trenibath, of Hamilton.
Miss Joy Moody, of Epsom, who has been visiting Mrs Russell Ritchie, in Dunedin, returned to Auckland yesterday.
Mrs. M. B. Anderson, of Wellington, will leave to-day by the Rangitane on an extended visit to England and Scotland.
Mrs. Lionel Michaels, of Hamilton, accompanied by her two children, is the guest of Mrs. R T. Michaels, at Milford.
_Miss Alison Pearce has returned to Wellington after having spent the holidays as the guest of Mrs. E. M. Silk, at Kawau.
Mrs. P. Tossman (Wellington), Mrs. G. J. Smith (Christchurch) and the Misses E. and B. Lumsden (Palmerston North), are at the Station Hotel.
Mrs. L. Marshall and Mrs. T. V. Humphrey and family, of Rotorua, who have been spending a holiday at Cheltenham Beach, have returned home.
Mrs. W. J. Melody, of Wellington, accompanied by Mr. Melody, is visiting -Auckland for the forthcoming tennis j tournament. She is staying at Royal i Court.
Mrs. Alister Clark, of Melbourne, accompanied by her husband, will arrive in Christchurch early in February to visit Sir 1?. Heaton Rhodes, of Otahuna, Tai Tapu.
At the Cargen Hotel are: —Mrs. William Newlands and Mrs. J. A. Hanan (•Dunedin), Mrs. J. C. Pairman and the Misses Dorothy and Margaret Pairman (Christchurch), Miss Barbara Allen (Paihia) and Miss C. M. Brindle (Te Awamutu).
Lady Chance, wife of Sir William Chance, of Legh Manor, Cnckfield, Sussex, arrived at Bluff in the Marama early this week from Melbourne. She travelled from England in the Shaw, Savill and Albion line motor-ship, Waiwera, and proposes to return home in April via Panama by the Rangitata. During her stay in Southland Lady Chance will visit Stewart Island.
Mrs. W. Riddet, of Palrnerston North, accompanied by her husband, Professor Riddet, will leave Wellington on February 4 for America and Fugland. Professor Riddet, who is a director of the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute and professor of agriculture at Massev College, will spend a year abroad travelling under a grant awarded him by the Carnegie Corporation.
The dance held in the Te Akau Hall on Saturday night brought the annual sports meeting to a very pleasant ending. Excellent music was supplied by a dance band from Hamilton, and dancing was much enjoyed by all. A clever exhibition of Highland dancing performed by the little Campbell sisters was well received. Visitors were present from Auckland, Hamilton, Waingaro. Eotorua, Tauranga, Christchurch, Renown, and Pepepe.
