HALF-CASTE'S OFFENCE [UY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] WJTAKATANE, Wednesday Edward Hohapata, aged 24, a halfcaste Maori, of Edgecumbe, pleaded guilty to charges of supplying stolen liquor to a prohibited person, with receiving stolon liquor, and with supplying other natives with it. A large quantity of beer was stolen from cars while a dance was in progress at Edgecumbe, and Hohapata distributed it among his friends. On the three charges ho was fined £4 and costs. This was his first appearanco in Court.
