BAKERY TRADE DISPUTE
NO AGREEMENT REACHED There was no agreement at a meeting in Conciliation Council oi the Auckland Operative Bakers and Pastry Cooks and Elated Trades Employees' Industrial j.TJnion oi Workers and. the Master ' and Pastry Cooks of the Industrial District of Auckland yesterday, 2nd. the meeting was adjourned. The employers offered to continue the present award, while the union sought increased v%"ages and improved working conditions, including daylight baking. The employers later oflered to refer w ages to the Arbitration Court ii an agreement could be reached on tlie otber clauses, but this was not nccep - able to the workers. Daylight " a ki"g was claimed by the employers to impracticable. , The employers "were represented Dy Messrs. A. E. Brownlie, C. Cowan, Faville and P. H. Montgomery, witn Mr, W. E. Anderson as agent, while the union representatives were#Messrs. E. J. Watson, F. Bourke, J. Curran and F. West The Conciliation Commissioner Mr. P. Hallv, presided.
