THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE BROKEN hills higher a firm demand for Broken Hills and Electrolytic Zincs was again evident on the Auckland Stock Exchange yester,ar w hen levels for these issues were again raised. Industrials generally were veil supported, but turnover was restricted. \ feature of the market for Government loans was an easing of 5s in offers for both 1955 4 per cent issues. Banks showed a downward tendency, ihe only sales being in Reserves, which vere done at £6 2s 6d and later at £6 3s, a net fall of 6d. Nationals of js'ew Zealand were wanted 6d higher s t 725, ■••but other issues had unchanged fo easier inquiry. In the insurances, gouth British and New Zealands wore Bought at higher levels. Auckland Gas weakened 4d on sale iit 25s 6d. There was a quieter demand for Kauri Timbers, but Nationals again improved. Breweries bad better support, and two parcels of Dominions ■were' transferred at 16s, a gain of 4}d. In the miscellaneous section, Broken Ijlills were wanted at 58s, a rise of 6d. Buyers offered 28s, an advance of Ik, for' the contributing issue, while holders increased their limits by 2s to 30s. Electrolytic Zincs were piaced Is 9d higher at 34s 9d, and buyers closed Arm at 34s 6d. New Zealand Newspapers rose 3d on sale at 40s 9d, >ith sustained offers at that figure. ,Woolworths (N.Z.), preference, sold for ;the first ~time since April at 395, a :fall of Is 4d, while Claude Neons (Sydmev) were transferred 3d cheaper at (60s.
