WAIKATO BATTERY
ENROLMENT OF PERSONNEL TRAINING OF OFFICERS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Wednesday Steps to reform the 2nd Battery in Hamilton were furthered to-day, when Colonel J. E. Duigan, officer commanding the Northern Command, discussed the matter with Captain E. F. ClaytonGreene, who will take charge of the new unit. The battery will consist of four 60poundcr guns with a personnel of about 140. Officers and non-commissioned officers are being enrolled, and will at> tend a practice camp during tho summer. The guns, with instructional staff, are expected to arrive in Hamilton in January. Owing to the weight of the guns, men of strong physique are required for the battery.
CADETS INSPECTED TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday The Hamilton Technical High School cadets were inspected to-day by Colonel j. E. Duigan, officer commanding the Northern Command. He was accompanied by Major L. Potter and Captain J. A. M. Clachan. Tho cadets, who were in the charge of Captain L. I. Day, made a good impression, the inspecting officers stating that their drill was well lip to standard.
